Who are the authors?

  • Irene Fantopoulos: Luck of the Draw – Irene Fantopoulos writes fiction and memoir. Her essays, short stories, and poetry have appeared in literary journals, on-line, and print magazines. She has been short-listed for a several notable awards. Irene is the author of the psychological crime thriller, All the Evil Scatters, Burden of Proof, and the Luck of the Draw. Irene’s next book is Murders in Deer Park. Detectives Otombo and Hargrove are reunited to solve a forty-year-old serial murder case.
  • Rosemary McCracken: The Pat Tierney Mystery series – Rosemary McCracken has worked on newspapers across Canada as a reporter, editor, arts columnist, and editorial writer. Rosemary’s first novel in the Pat Tierney Mystery Series was Safe Harbor, a finalist for Britain’s Debut Dagger in 2010. It was published by Imajin Books in 2012, followed by Black Water, Raven Lake and Uncharted Waters. Jack Batten, the Toronto Star’s former crime fiction reviewer, called Pat “a hugely attractive sleuth figure.” Rosemary lives and writes in Toronto.
  • Jim McDonald: Altered Boys – Jim McDonald is a teacher, wedding officiant, publisher, and author. Based on actual events, Altered Boy is a psychological thriller about a teen gang of hustlers—Mickey, Joey, and Shorty—who mistakenly think new priest Father Damon is an easy mark. But who’s conning who? Altered Boy is available via [email protected].
  • Hyacinthe M. Miller: Kenora Reinvented – Hyacinthe M. Miller is an award-winning author of short stories, magazine and newspaper articles, fiction and non-fiction. Her debut novel, Kenora Reinvented, (Investigations, Mystery and Seasoned Romance) was published in 2019. Her current works-in-progress include The Fifth Man, book two of the Kenora & Jake series. She is Past Chair of Crime Writers of Canada.
  • Kenneth Ogilvie: The Rebecca Bradley Trilogy – Ken Ogilvie is a former government official (Federal, Manitoba, and Ontario) and served for twelve years as Executive Director of Pollution Probe, one of Canada’s longest-running environmental organizations. His first two books were published by Joffe Books, London, England, but were revised and republished under his own imprint, Bazzle Press, along with his third book, The Three Caves.
  • Peter Thomas Pontsa: Outfoxed: An Inspector William Fox Adventure – Peter Pontsa is the author of many dental techno-clinical articles. After his retirement, he decided to develop his creative writing side resulting in his book Outfoxed being published in 2023. He is an avid British sports car enthusiast who raced with Jagged Edge Motorsports and former president of the Headwaters British Car Club.
  • Angela Van Beemen: Past Life’s Revenge – Angela van Breemen released her first novel, Past Life’s Revenge, a paranormal crime thriller, in 2024. She is a poet and a soprano soloist, Music and poetry have been an integral part of her life and in April she launched her album, In The Breeze, which includes three original pieces of music.
  • Keith Weaver: And Then There Was Maggie (Memoir) / Flight / Big White – Having retired from a 37-year engineering career, Keith Weaver turned to an enduring passion: writing. For an addicted reader having an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, writing provides the perfect means to integrate all his interests. His everyday anchors include cooking, bread-making, good friends, wine tasting, and his cat.
