If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes
December 1, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Making Change, Simcoe County
Through sharing their lived experiences as Black women, Michèle Newton (President/Chair) and Shondra Durrant (Youth Ambassador) bring a conversation about how Making Change is a lifelong journey. They’ll discuss the current Black Lives Matter focus and local initiatives, and how it’s impacted them personally and in the community. Michèle will reflect on why Making Change was launched and detail their community work. Shondra brings a youthful perspective on joining the cause and her hopes for the future. Meant to move the conversation forward, while being mindful of the sensitive nature of the discussion, they’ll share perspectives and suggestions on becoming an ally and doing self-work around anti-Black racism. A question and answer opportunity will close out the session.
