Gifts & Donations

Benefits of Donating to the Library

As the gap between those who have and those who have not grows, the public library becomes more vital to communities, especially small towns. Libraries enrich the lives of everyone, rich or poor, young or old.

When you make a donation to the New Tecumseth Public Library, you become a valuable advocate for libraries, literacy and life-long learning. Your donation enables NTPL to continue to offer outstanding programs and services.

Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries.

Bequests

Through the generosity of those who have remembered the New Tecumseth Public Library in their wills, additions to the collection and special services are made possible. Bequests can be made for specific purchases, services or types of material. Please discuss these plans with CEO Jessica Mole, at 705-435-0250, to ensure that the Library is able to accommodate your wishes.

Gifts & Memorials

Providing funds to the Library for the purchase of gift and memorial items is a wonderful and unique way to remember loved ones or to mark special occasions such as births and birthdays, deaths, graduations, weddings, and anniversaries.

With your tax-deductible contribution, the Library will purchase an item in the category of your choice. For instance, if the person you are honouring with a memorial book was an avid gardener, the Library will be happy to enhance its collection by selecting a book about gardening. If you are a physician, you may choose to sponsor a donation to the health reference collection.

Acknowledgment of your gift is sent to the individual or to the family of the person being honoured. A bookplate imprinted with your name and the name of the person being honoured is placed in the book before it goes on the shelf for check-out.

Gifts become the property of the Library and are subject to the same criteria as purchased material with regard to weeding (removal from the collection) and repairs.
